Stupid ? but What is the best type off tool for cutting plugs off of old cords.

Just starting getting into some scrapping. A lot of cords. Thanks for your help.
 
Good handheld wire Cutters , The type that look like pliers with the large wire cutting area just below the tip.

I used to cut the plugs off old Ext, cords & other types , then saw others getting the same price with them still attached so I just leave them now.
But I do usually pull out the brass plugs & throw them in with my yellow brass but hey I,m OCD. LOL
 
leave them on unless they say something then cut them off but leaving them on adds to the weight which adds to the money
 
Cable cutters, if you need to cut them off. They close like pinchers, and are about 6$ at Harbor Freight.

I use these as well , for larger Cables/wires & sometimes to cut small dia, Copper pipe.
THEY Def, help on the larger plastic coated Aluminum Wires.

Sometimes this requires a good hard stomp with the foot.
