I went back to the spot where I found all the silvers (last week) full of zest and ready to hunt down some good stuff! The sun was beating down and the coins were ours for the taking! I was there with the Silver Bandit and Ryan. We are working on a youtube channel. It's going to be awesome lookout for it in the near future. They found some buffalo nickels and I found a few more wheaties but I guess we had really pounded the place. Not much was coming out of the ground. It took awhile but the bandit found a hotspot with a Barber dime so we surfed the wave over to where he was and began to hunt in earnest. I got a penny dime signal and the seal had been broken.... well sort of! I found a nice little 1944 Merc dime. For those of you who watch the hoover boys you know the 44 is a significant year. What it signifies I have no idea. Next I found a crusted over IHP! My day was already made with the merc. This was just some sweet icing on the cupcake! I later used Andre's Pencils to clean it up and it's beaten up but still has some details to it. Next the lowdown dirty bandit found a merc right next to one of my plugs. I guess that happens when you are awesome! He's awesome at finding stuff... I'm awesome at almost finding stuff! Then we went and got a sand scoop to try out some water hunting. I will say right now that it was definitely the wrong approach. I was wearing boots and although they kept me dry I was constantly worried that a misstep would fill them with water. You couldn't see the bottom even at the shallow depth I was. I didn't find anything in there but I know there is stuff lurking beneath the mud. I think next time I'll wear some water shoes so I can get in deeper. The bandit tried to magnet fish and found a whole lot of nothing but give him a break he's the luckiest hunter I know. We tried the other side of the river and it was so trashy you couldn't swing without a beep. I ended up finding a giant AA 17 (days weeks years
) token made of copper or brass and some clad. Next we headed off to another park. I proceeded to find nothing while the bandit pulled some IHP's, more silvers, and some silver jewelry from the clutches of mother earth. He rounded out the day with 5 silvers to my one which is ok because I still really like my two coins. Once I hit the day maker... well the day is made! Thanks for reading!
