I am looking for a new detector. I have been detecting for about 45 years and have used Whites, Garrett, Fisher and MineLab. I have been away from the hobby for about 8 years and a lot of things have changed in terms of operation and quality of machines. I live near the beach and enjoy hunting there, especially in the wet sand. My old Fisher machines such as the CZ6 worked great there. The CZ was also a good relic machine. I understand that Fisher is no longer owned by Fisher, even though they keep the name. I tried out an F-70 and a CZ-3D a while back and was not overly impressed. I have also read that the F-70 generates a lot of false signals.
I also enjoy relic hunting for relics, so I need depth and good ground balance. I have ruled out a MineLab because I just can not get used to its operation. I am not bound to any specific brands. I have owned good ones and bad ones from the same manufactures. I am open to suggestions for any brand other than noted.
