Our family lived in England in the 1960s and I recalled a large coin collection. Talked to my dad about it and we found the old suitcase and was very cool to look through. Nothing of big value, but still a fun time to uncover. Silver half crowns and crowns, florins, shillings, tons of pennies. Oldest I found is 1797 penny as described below. All others are early to mid 1900s coins. A good number of silvers, too bad no golds.
A British 1797 copper Penny (KG III)(36 mm diameter, 10 leaves in wreath) (aka a "Cartwheel coin"), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £1,000 GBP. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch up to £12 to £300 GBP.
