Living in the Memphis area, I started reading up on the sultana, I have found every detail I would ever need to know, except the answer to question of HOW a lawyer from Memphis found it 30 feet beneath a farmers soybean field.
Yes I know the river has changed course a hundred times here.
Yes I understand silt buildup.
What I want to know is how they found it's location 150 years later.
If anyone knows where I can find the story or just give me the short version, it would be much appreciated.
