I should be in bed right now because I am so exhausted from hunting for 10 hours today but I am still pretty excited about today's hunt. And I am a little afraid about how bad my sunburnt neck is going to feel when I shower tomorrow. Lesson learned, use sunblock on your neck even if it is only 60 degrees out.

Started the day around 9am at a new place I have been wanting to check out for a while. That is where I picked up the Lincoln Park Zoo souvenir smashed penny and the .925 ring. Then made my way over to the group hunt that had formed about a mile away. That is where I picked up the silver quarter and the Chuckie Cheese 1983 token!

Then on my way back home I decided to stop at an area that I had been hitting hard ever since I got my etrac, and after about an hour I got the two mercs about 1 foot from each other!

Wheaties where everywhere... and when I was cleaning out my bag of finds, I found an extra nickel I didn't remember digging. I must have dug it and figured it was a normal Jefferson. I just happened to look at the year and noticed it was a 1943 silver nickel! Heck yeah! My 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th silver since getting my new detector.

I am pretty sure everything I did today beat a personal record... including the time spent hunting, and the number of total digs ever. 56 screw/bottle caps is probably a record also. Jeez I wish those 12/42's were silver instead of screwcaps!

Note: The 1947d merc in the picture is actually a 1942d but unfortunately not the 41/42 double die.

Thanks for reading!

WOW!!! WTG racking up some good finds GTL.

congrats on all the silver coins . you sure found a lot of clad. also thanks for digging up all that garbage !

Great hunting with you again Jason. Way to get some more silver and wheats at your other spot. Looks like you are getting the hang of the etrac! Especially when you pulled that 1938S quarter out of an area that had just been hunted by Dennis!

unless you found a lot of pocket spills, that is a lot holes to dig . . . that may be another record!!

it all sounds and looks like fun - congrats on the finds!!

Yup - Not really any pocket spills... just a lot of digging. My legs are still sore from all the squatting. I'm walking a little like frankenstien today.

Way cool Jason!

Check the neck, Red!

Awesome collection!

Wow, you were busy. Your digger must be worn down to a nub after all that. Great hunt congrats :icon_thumright:
