Got in 3 hours at the park this afternoon and dug several keepers. A high 30s signal on the Equinox, just one-way, was a puzzler but out came this ring that really cleaned up nice. I think the maker's mark is Uncas, if so, this can be no earlier than 1911. No precious metal here and the 'stone' is glass but it has some fancy detailing. IMG_7364.webpIMG_7367.webpIMG_7363.webp

In that same area I got a 1936 wheat,

and then, in a different spot, a hole produced not only this 1879 IHC,

but a second signal turned out to be a 'toasty' 1884 V-nickel. You can barely see Liberty's outline.

Thanks Truth1253! Used some lemon juice on it to bring out the gilt just like you'd do on a button. Turned out pretty good.

Thanks Bob-E-Pin! Pretty fragile out of the ground; the stone popped off as I rubbed some dirt off. Interesting high 30s signal on the Equinox.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Thanks Randy! Another good hunt in this old park. The old-timers left us a few good finds.

Nice finds. Congrats. That ring is cool.

Hey McD, great recoveries! That ring is really cool and that stunner of an Indian is only a couple years off that magic "77"...Find an 1877 in that condition and you could buy some new batteries..lol. (LOTS of batteries). Congrats on a great outing...Ddf.

Wow, you just keep on finding the Indians in that park, I`m sooooo jealous!:tongue3:

Nice finds! That ring is very cool. Congrats! :icon_thumleft:

Another great park hunt, the ring is really awesome as well as the IHP, congratulations on all the saves

Nice variety of finds. I consider a day successful these days if I get a couple of notable coins (i.e. anything old that isn't a common wheat or Jefferson nickel). Way to go!

Nice digs, I have found a few of those Uncus rings, as soon as I seen your first two pix, the ornate design, I thought to myself that is probably a Uncus ring. You should come up and come hit a field with me, Wednesday or Thursday might be good days to dig, Thursday the best so it won't be so muddy.

super cool old ring with lots of character

Bet that got the blood pumping outta the hole! Nice saves!

Beautiful ring, congrats! :occasion14:

Thats an beauty of a ring! Congratulations :icon_thumleft:

Indian Burial Ground - according to The Hoover Boys. Amazingly they just keep coming....final count for Feb 2019 - 18 IHCs from this park.

Thanks Brad! Pick a good date for your schedule and I'll drive up. Right now I'm working, although I retired end of Dec. 2018. Work needed me back and its helping right now. Four days last week and four days again this week but once we hit March I'll be able to cut back to 3 a week. Best day for me is a Thursday but the 7th is out with a doctor's appt, other than that I should be able to work out one of the remaining Thursdays in March, if any of those are dates you can do.
