Dont know where to post this so here goes....
I have an X-1 target probe on my Minelab E-trac. It has worked great for the few months or so but all of a sudden it has started to go haywire. I lose my threshold whenever I am trying to pin point and touch the pinpointer… if that doesn’t make sense let me explain further.
When I locate a target with my detector and dig a plug I flip the switch to probe. I have my threshold tone until I actually touch the probe itself…no matter where I touch it…the cable or anywhere along its length. It also falses like crazy a high pitch when i try and move it in the hole (not always though) but I never really get my threshhold hum...even if I hold it straight out in the air. When there is a target directly under the probe it does locate it but not like its supposed to do…or like it did up until this weekend...
