What features does it have that makes you think it's gold?
Not saying it is or isn't, it's hard to figure it out from the photos.
Have you tested it yet?

I think you,re getting the cart before the horse here.Determine for sure what you have before you start thinking of selling it and retiring for good. You may have a ton of gold, you may not.

We can expound all day on here and still not know what that is.You obviously believe it,s gold in there.Ultimately you,ve got to take it to some one who can determine that.I,d be looking in the yellow pages or maybe at any local University to find either an assayer or rock specialist or other person who can determine what you have, geologist maybe.Otherwise we,re all guessing, even you.

So will iron oxide.

Your persistence will eventually payoff but this rock ain't gonna win ya no prize.
Have it checked. Then..... Worry about whether it's a specimen piece or if you're going to crush n pan. Might be a piece you could cut a slice off to test & make a cool paper weight out of the rest.

Its not a specimen peace, what were looking at is a badly weather oxidized outer skin, rock hounds have a name for that type of rock.

LEAVIT

Rock hounds carry a pick to break through the oxide layer.

Alloy gave you great advise on checking as first step. Either cut into it or use a rock hammer (and safety glasses) and chip into it. I think you will find it looks different inside.
