tougher times now then weve seen in years. where has all the money

gone? to china, thats where. im sooo tired of their inferior crap products

which im pretty much forced to buy. simple things crap out while still new.

or u end up crippling along for years with an item that half works. i had a

bedside made in c lamp.which never worked right for years. kept foolin w it

forever tryin to get my bux worth out of it. well finaly it bit the dust completely.

so i figure yea i will buy a new one. only again made in c.

and i test it it work great at store soon as i get home .ZONK dont work

i told store they sell garbage.i dont even want a replcement made in c even if its free.

found a nice real old for a buck at garage sale. and viola they had coins for saLE TOO. HA GOT SOME NICE ONES CHEAP.

the lady thanked me like i was a god or somethin for spending 20 bux.

simple thing like a can opener. electric died. i figure i can live with a hand can opener. go to store tried several made in c models on empty cans i brought along. ZONK AGAIN. bought a model that sez 1912 patent at the junk store for 2.50. bingo.

well it aint a lotta money. but theres a few bucks that stayed HERE and helped US. AND NO END TO THE TREASURE u can find that u wont get at any regular store. im a realist. sometimes u gotta buy mnade in c. but i will
not buy there junk anymore. if we dont chip on this a bit.
SOON THEY WILL OWN US.THINK ABOUT IT !

They already own us, they are calling us "Chimerica" now from what I hear.

I totally agree with what you're saying though! I get so sick of the chinese junk we have too choose from nowadays. I look at stuff before buying. Sometimes I can find made in mexico or canada, or somewhere else. I used to hate to see made in mexico on a product, but now I am glad to have it when I do. What a shame, I can't believe I said that. Problem is, you can't find much made here no matter how hard you try. Some things just aren't made here anymore. I got a battery powered impact gun recently. I usually buy "Milwaukee" power tools because they were usually made in America and lasted a long time. Well, this wasn't made here. It has lasted well so far...already paid for itself several times over, but it's a shame they had to pay foreigners to make it for me when I would rather pay fellow Americans to do it instead, even if it did cost a few more bucks. Our foundation is sinking beneath our feet, and bailouts and buyouts aren't going to work. They are temporary. If the foundation isn't there, the structure will fall. Bailouts get some water out of the boat, but they don't fix the leak.

I plan to frequent more yard sales. I haven't thought of that, but you are directly affecting someone's life in a much greater way than if you go to the store to buy something by buying at a yard sale. Good idea.

thanks mr cheese. its heartening to know someone out there cares.

i guess the rest of the 60 who looked at this post didnt care enuf to respond.

thats because things still arent that bad yet. and maybe YOU or SOMEONE

CLOSE TO YOU, has not yet lost their job.

but BELIEVE ME it will HAPPEN SOON. the recovery,if it happens at all will be short lived. for its based on false prop ups and even greater borrowing.

imho ....SOON HELL TO PAY...LOOK FOR 25 per cent unemployment by 2015. along w a national debt the size of texas.

It's not just China either. I bought my girlfriend a brand new TV at wal-mart and it lasted less then 6 months. I bought an RCA thinking at least I was getting a little bit better brand. Not the case at all, wal-mart would not let me return it, and RCA evidently moved to Mexico and absolutely refuses to honor any warranties on thier products now unless you spend 6 weeks jumping thru hoops just to find out that they won't even look at it unless you pay shipping ($70) and then it only covers parts and not labor. I finally got so disgusted trying to get anything out of them that I just gave up. Which is what they were hoping I would do anyway.

I would like to caution everyone not to buy RCA products, this is the only recourse I have against that company now, I hope I save someone else the same trouble I have had with them. Quality products are getting harder and harder to find.

Some of the junk that comes over here isn't just junk...it is literally dangerous to use. You know the chinese motorcycles and 4 wheelers you see all over the place? I used to get them in the shop brand new from the local dealer with loose strut bolts, loose A-frames on the 4-wheelers, loose axle nuts, brittle plastic brake parts, etc... And some of these have warning stickers on them that are translated into english so poorly that you can't understand them. These things are made for little kids for crying out loud. Would you sit your kid on a 4-wheeler that goes 45 mph and has loose axle nuts, loose A-frames, and flimsy plastic brakes?

I don't take them in for repair anymore. You can't fix them right. You can fix the problem, but you can never make it safe. The metals are so soft and the plastics are so cheap that nothing stays together and you may fix everything one day and have 2 new problems the next day. Getting parts is nearly impossible. Some of the parts are defective when you get them. Sometimes the parts are used or obviously removed from another piece of equipment.

Hmmm... I recently heard we were possibly going to have chinese cars over here too. Better hang onto your American made clunkers so you can deflect the chinese gocart cars when their plastic brakes fail. :angry5:

I agree with every statement made on this subject, we are really heading downstream in tha crapper if we dont do something soon. Its very convient to go to Dollar stores now, they are usually next door to Wallyworld(another Chi-comm plot) and quality is laughable.their food products are sub par, kitchen implements may work once , if that, etc. Some of the chemical cleaners are suspect, little more than colored water. My (EX) son in law got some anti-persperant, broke him out terribly(now , that was funny, cause he's a dink !) Plastic shoes that cause rashes, etc. How long before they emplement phase two, seriously poisoning items? My wife wanted a moped to ride to work, we looked at the chinese scooters, all were total crap, so we bought a 22 year old Italian scooter for 100 bucks, poured 500 more into it to rebuikd it, got a very nice safe bike for 600 bucks, still half of what the Chinese models run.Nuke em, let god sort them out....

I was looking for Levi jeans jacket for months without any luck in finding any. I finally saw some in Wal-mart and proceeded to pick one out. I was looking for the size and the tag was so weird looking that it took about two minutes to figure it out. Then my eyes focused on the made in China label and I released the jacket from my hand faster then a speeding bullet.

There is nothing sacred in America any more. If an American product can't be made in America then I will teach people around me to make their own products just like the pioneers did. We have become such a lazy nation that we buy stuff with a Made in China label on it thinking that that's the way its going to be from now on. If that is how it really is then China owns us out right.

If you have a hair on your butt then ask for American made products when your in the stores from now on and walk out if you don't get your answer like it REALLY matters to you to buy American made items. Act like your job depends on it as if you still have a job from all this outsourcing crap that is going on in the last three decades.

Scrouger, et.al

I totally agree with everthing said. This didn't happen overnight. I've
been screaming to everyone who will listen "Why doesn't America make
products anymore." It's enough to make us all conspiracy nuts. Remem-
ber Nixon going to China and how the media creamed? Bush Sr kneeling
before the Red Star? "Let's have free trade now"?
Makes one wonder about the patriotism of the GOP. They even blamed
trade unions for forcing them to betray the USofA by scouring the planet
for cheap labor, cheap products. They didn't seem to mind depriving the
homelands labor force of decent benefits/well made products in exchange
for low-cost/shoddy, inferior goods.
Friends, we got shafted by these UnAmarican jerks. They got richer, we
got Walmart.

I have to add this one . after the 9-11 attackks everyone was out buying american flags to fly on thier cars and homes ect.
I WAS SHOCKED to find out there is only one co making flags here in America and they only make the 6 foot one I think it was and the ones for the white house. all the small flags are made in China, Tiwan, and where ever else they can make them cheap. what is wrong here that our country,s flags
are not
even made here in this country but in some second rate place. I say make them here where they belong and make jobs here for people even if they was made in the prisons here at least they would be MADE IN AMERICA!

I agree as well. What I would like to add is that we North Americans are to blame. I have been cursing Chinese made crap for years. The stores that carry it like Wal-fart and Dollarama are American companies so I curse them for setting up shop here in Canada. Then when I look at the crowds going to those stores, I curse Canadians for supporting them. What's weird is while I watch my wife's Ford that was assembled in Mexico fall apart, I thank God that I have an Asian car! What irony!
Boycott Wal-mart, McDonald's, Dollar stores, and other giant box stores. What else can we do?
Dave.

tell me,,, where are people supose to shop, that only make 15,000 a year. . take notice the next time you are in wally world. see how the folks are dressed, as compared to kroger shoppers, or sears shoppers. even look at the cars in the lots. them folks would rather buy cigarettes, and beer. ...over toothpaste or laundry soap. Somebody pissed in the gene pool of america. what ever happen to self pride. just my 2 cents

Well you know the old saying, "he who has the gold, makes the rules" well you have the gold. Don't buy China junk, just say no.The American people are the ones that let the Envo-Wako special interst groups, run the manufacturing base out of this country with EPA rules, unions and self serving politicans. The corprate tax rate in the US 29%+ in Ir land it is 12% and they are living high and making money hand over fist. We have become a throw away society. Just a buy cheep use once and throw it a way, or buy the new trick of the week. just look at the i phone. I have wood planes that are as old as I am and they are just as usefull today as the day they where made. I just don't buy foreign junk. I make what I can't buy made here in the US or I make do with out. I vote the for the people that will restore my rights and do whats good for America. Not because they are Dimwit, or a repubic . I don't buy wrangler jeans any more, or Levi's they are all made over in china with crappy Chinese cotton, and bad thread. I'll pay 5.00 more for Texas made jeans that last 3 times longer. Voters in California elected the morons that band suction dredge mining. That adds true wealth to this country. Gold and silver is true wealth, they are not someone Else's debt.
Just ask your self, when was the last time you stood up for some one else rights, when was the last time you gave buck or two to a group like the People for public lands, the NRA, even if you don't want a gun yourself, the 2nd Amendment is every bodies right not just the leftest labled gun nuts. No America is to blame for the problems here. The commies said back in the 50's that, "they would not need to fire a shot, that they would take us down from within". When the public learns they can vote themselves large sum's of money from the public treasury, then the republic is finished.

Exactly what the title of this thread says....Support your local garage sales, junk dealers, thrift or second hand stores, auctions, classified section of the newspaper, (for sale) and the internet.
When it comes to Wal-mart and dollar stores, Remember folks....YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
Dave.
