Surf 'n Turf

Fall is surf fishing season in New England and I've been hitting the surf pretty hard, with limited success.
By serendipitous chance, there's a productive field walking distance from the fishermens' parking lot. :laughing9:

Not counting a mug full of flakes, brokes and odd pieces, this is my tally from three trips.

These look more like knives than points to me, pretty small though.

Not sure if that big ugly one is unfinished or some kind of scraper?

Have had a bit of luck on the water as well.

Striped bass for the chowder, bluefish for the grill.

Well done Mike, Nice blue and striper, good sized eating fish. Good looking haul off the turf as well, your materials(especially the quartz stuff) looks alot like the lithics down here in Va.

very good. Love the pics, beautiful country. John

Re: Surf 'n Turf

Great post. Life is good when you can gather great artifacts like those and then catch some fish. Those stripers sure put up a fight. Good post and finds.

Mikez,

Great job! Two hobbies enjoyed in the same area and time is a superb time saver. :icon_thumright:
Stripers are one of only a handful of fish that can live in both a salt or fresh water environment.
And like TN said can really put up a fight.

Nice catch and finds. I love the striped bass. I fry them in beer batter. How's that blue fish on the grill? I've caught a few in the Gulf of Mexico but never tried them. Both fish will test your tackle. :D

Congrats, two great pastimes that produced on the same day. It doesn't get any better than that.
