My family were getting a old bedroom wall renovated in my grandparents old house and we found a weird surprise that I claimed. A old fullpack of Cuban billiken cigaros and a old card inside. Unsure how old they are yet! The house is mid 1800's but these aren't that old but strange how they got there. Maybe work got done in the past! That is a great find. There is a site out there to date by tax stamp but I forgot it.

That is an awesome find! When I was about 15... (11 years ago) I found a wooden hand carved and signed letter opener in the wall of our house and it is still one of my prized possessions to this day. Gotta love those unexpected finds.

That is a cool opener. Was the house very old?

I am curious who the card was on, and I also wonder if maybe just one was missing and some advertursome youngsters dropped it in the wal from the attic. Or, could have fell out of the pocket of a previous workman, did find this old ebay listing, Cuban Baseball Cigarette Wrapper Billiken Cigarros 1923 Pack The Cards Came In | eBay
I will get a clear picture of the actress and her name for you. It is at the other house or I would send the picture now for you. (:

Not especially, it was built in the early 1910s I believe.

I researched the name some also, the name on it is Will S Whitted. I found an obituary for a William L Whitted in the area and in his obituary it said he was a carpenter and one of his hobbies was woodworking, but I don't know why he would write a different middle initial. Not sure if it was the same guy or not but it is interesting!

now that's off the wall.:notworthy:

Cool find of cigars & picture! If only walls could talk ...! :icon_thumright: :occasion18: :icon_thumright: Also groovy hand-carved letter opener posted by Zee: either one William was the son or grandson of the other, or else the website middle initial could be wrong (in doing some ancestry research, I found that middle initials are wrong fairly often, even in the census reports!)
HAVE FUN YALL! Andi
