Suspender Buckle?

It has writting on it. It has two stars and says "CH.GUYOT" or "CUYOT". Is this a militia buckle?

Not militia, Ch. Guyot was a French co. that made suspenders. I think this co. lasted untill the 1920's and started possibly around 1907. Just initial research on the dates, I may be wrong.
