Awesome finds. I'm new at MDing but finding Indian artifacts like those arrow heads would be awesome. I plan on doing the shores of the Mohawk river in the Capital district area this year. Any suggestions of where and where not to concentrate? Thanks!

cool finds 440 thanks for the look, fast ed you wont find those mding unless they come up with a target

Just set your metal detector on Indian artifact mode. It will discriminate everything out except arrowheads and stone tools.....
......... kidding.

OK guy's whip this newbie with a wet noodle but i really didn't think I'd find stone arrow heads with a metal detector :)

Just joshing with you... I wish you all the luck in the world.

Very nice finds! (and lots of them) Thanks for sharing.

Wow you got a good haul off of that river.

Thanks, there was a large IROQUOIS village near where i live, also many small camps over hundreds of years. ONEIDA, IROQUOIS, SENECA to name a few--if interested you could google the town ouquaga [oquaga, oneaquaga] its spelled alot of ways, thats close to my home. alot of indian culture, and rev. war era history.

hi diggings. great finds man. i live in central PA and the susquehanna runs right by me. even closer to me yet, theres a tributary that comes from the susquehanna called the swatara creek which the susquehannock tribe lived along. swatara comes from the susquehannock word Swahadowry or schaha-dawa meaning "where we feed on eels" . im new to taking hunting seriously and havnt found anything personally but cant wait to get out there once the days warm up.

Talk about coming in fast and quick. Nice post. I am very interested as my Dad was from Pa and my gg grandmother was Iroquois. Nice to see a little culture in my family at last. Do you still get out and hunt? Thanks for sharing.

Like the point turned spokeshave as well. I was looking at one of mine where they did that

hey tnmount, yes i still get out but not as much as id like, now my son is 7 and has an interest in head hunting and metal detecting so i might really get into it this year--im ready to get a picture of him finding his first point that will be cool---keep in touch and happy hunting---

You to sir. It's great to bring in the next generation. Hope you all find a lot. Be safe.
