forgot it was on last night but at least my DVR remembered.

Show consists of somewhere between 4 & 6 so-called Relic Hunters.
the jury is still out on if that is even true.

so far allot of arguing
spitting
using dynamite ?
spitting
a guy with the Bald head & Braided Girly Beard
Spitting
colorful swamp language
& did I say spitting ?

first episode they go after a supposed Civil war era Prison Barge sunk in the Swamp

I noticed a few Whites Detectors including a deep seeker,
and what looked to me like an old Garrett.
something with a round Control box ?
& I believe I saw a Bounty hunter (oval Case)

Biggest problem they get a large signal & use dynamite to unearth it ?

Someone tell me, is dynamite available to anyone in Louisiana ?
(remember now, there is evidence on TV they used it)
I know up here even Miners have to jump through hoops.
and French Homeland security where the sun don't shine.

anyway They blow up the ground & Surprisingly there is a giant civil war era sugar pot
sitting there looking pretty.

after some work they load it on a flat bed,
try to get $15,000. for it are offered $3,000 & easily haggle it up to $8,000.00
most likely from the guy who owns it & wants to sell it for $15,000 to a Sucker who saw it on the show

Being it as so obviously Fiction,
I enjoyed the show, but thought it should be longer.

at least nobody yelled Boom Baby at the top of their lungs.

only thing yelled so far "Taylor's 1, Swamp 0 " which may or may not be their catch phrase.

But they need to stop filming the Spitting !

It is really funny you mentioned this show, I literally just saw the last few minutes of the show when I was trying to escape the inaguration on fox news. It seems okay from the few minutes I saw.

I haven't seen it, but since it's on "Tru TV"....I feel confident in passing judgement that it is 120% fake.

It is probably just their ripoff of American Diggers...which is already a disasterous starting point.

They also have fake repo and pawn ripoffs.

They even have a tagline for the network: "Not reality...but Act-uality" so they admit that their shows are acting (usually very poor acting).

Not long into any show on that channel will reveal impossible, or unbelievable situations, or a camera being in an unbelievable position to capture some other unbelievable fake situation.

I think their target audience are guys that refuse to believe that pro wrestling is staged, and rehearsed, even after some of the former stars admit it on a regular basis.

one thing that surprised me, the detector that did sound off....

it actually sounded like a detector in real time. not canned or imagined sound


but yes definitely a ripoff of American Diggers

trying to act tuff by spitting on everything

definately no threat to anyone IMO

of course at some point they will run into a team of stooge relic hunters,
and fight with them, maybe have contests to see who gets the best relics

Louisiana state Gov. has a program where they are giving tax breaks to film and production companies- and even paying some wages for people hired by those companies in order to attract business to the state.

This is why there are so many of the iediculous reality shows here- at this point they are making up all kinds of crap just to fill any open spot on cable- whether or not it's entertaining... Certainly does not reflect "Normal" here or anywhere else!

Worst part is- this is just another show that will give detecting a bad rep. Since American digger trash came on- I bet I've been asked 5-6 times now when attempting to get permission on a site- "What's my take?" "How much you paying?". That- and every time I turn around now there is a new guy with a walmart detector diggin the median of main highways and leaving shovel sized holes everywhere...

But on the positive side- yeah- some explosives are legal in LA- with a few caveats. On your own property and no transporting down a highway in any form. Permits needed in some cases- but if I got beaver dams, stumps, hills to move, or just want to make dust loudly- BOOM BABY!

Scary show in a scarier state. I used to tell my buddy who was born and raised there-Your state is so ugly they built bridges over it so you wouldn't have to walk on it. And where do they go for explosives? Walmart, Lowe's, Home Depot? Now we know how explosives get moved around the country. Yep, need 50 cases this time. Gotta blow up an outhouse and then go fishing. Their Gov.(Jindal) wants to be president and the KKK is not only still active there, they almost elected the Gov. a decade or so ago. The education system is rated at the very bottom(they sometimes trade places with Miss.), but I suppose you couldn't find a better place to have a show like this one. Gotta watch this winner...

I was sooo disappointed with Swamp Hunters last night on TruTv! The characters had absolutely no depth to them and showed no interest in the history of the stuff they were hunting! Another shallow stereotypical reality series -Two Thumbs down. You can check it out a great new series currently in development that I believe is what the hunting community needs on tv right now.

I was actually just joking around with my dad the other day how the "redneck" has got to be the most discriminated group in the country. Im actually not joking, this is a serious comment. From tv shows, movies, ads, etc. I could not even imagine someone portraying blacks, Hispanics, Asians, etc in a similar way as they do the redneck?? I'm surprised some southern governor etc hasn't made a big stink about it. Maybe they should be a "protected population" under the affirmative action laws ? Really makes most southerners look like a bunch of idiots. And yes I'm a New England Yankee from Massachusetts but even I noticed it. Didn't know they had a word for it - hixploitation - learn something new everyday. Curious if others have seen the same thing.

..... My self i am from the north...And i do notice how they sort of make fun of them...... But in the same light they are a lot smarter than most think...... They take it in stride or in fun..... not like Blacks , Hispanics, Asians , ect........... So that makes me think they think more of them selves ... Have more respect for them selves than the other groups..... And they don't need some organization to go out and stick up for them and cause trouble ............ I have friends from the south and they enjoy and laugh at the show's like we do ........ They don't get up tight and start trouble....... And by the way red necks also live up north here also ..And also in Canada....And have never been down south YOU SEE YOU CAN BE A RED NECK AND LIVE UP NORTH........... And most are proud to be red necks.. .... AND THEY KNOW HOW TO HOLD THERE HEADS HIGH AND BE PROUD...
