Briars and mud, briars and mud, and then more briars and mud. Digging buddy got half a nose to a wooden-fused shell, and some bullets. Mudduck got a couple of bullets and a flat button. I managed to find some stuff, maybe a bit of a tin plate, but who knows? . I have the weird shaped brass item in the "What Is It" forum but if anybody has any ideas??

Nice lead and frags even though it wasn't easy!! The brass item is interesting. Hopefully, someone will be able to identify it.
