went back to a yankee camp ive been hunting for awhile, had found a couple bullets when i got a good tone that sounded different from a bullet, and out pops the soldier carved eagle breastplate, must have had a bit of time on his hands to cut the eagle out of the breastplate, also found a large harmonica reed and a nice GS eagle button as well.

WOW! I dug civil war artifacts in Virginia for over 25 years, never seen anything like that before. Great find, thanks for the view.

Amazing & unique find to say the least.

One of a kind for sure. Good find

That is really unique. You may have the only one like it.

that would be sweet haha

One part of me hates to see the breast plate not whole and the other part says man that thing has a story to tell! Never seen that ,really has a lot of character. Congrats on a very unique find.

Now that is pretty dad gone awesome right there. Don't recall having ever seen that done. Congrats.:icon_thumleft:

that's just pretty cool. I wonder if an officer would come down on them for altering part of their uniform?

Unique for sure - nice save!
