I took a day and a half vacation to hunt a long swimming area on Melton Hill lake. The water isn't dropped there very often so I thought I better hunt it while I could. A lot of fishing goes on there too and a LOT less wholesome things at night. I was going along about 20 feet from the bank and found a 45 cal auto Federal hollow point round of ammunition. I usually don't think much about finding a live round but by the time I got tired of digging them up I had 122 of them. There's more there but it got old and it was taking valuable time off hunting what I was there for. After thinking about it for a while I stopped and called the local Police dept. and they had no interest at all in what I found. I don't know if they will still fire but I'll find someone who will want them to try them out. I also found 2 cheapie rings, 4 wheat's, 38 quarters, 31 dimes, 17 nickels, 62 memorial cents for a total of 152 coins and $14.11, a few broken arrowheads, lots of lures, sinkers, a real thick muscle shell. No pearl there though....I also found several live muscles in the mud and threw them out in the deep water because I didn't know how long the water would be down. You all have a good one

I don't think they had hollowpoints like that back in the Thompson heyday. Those look like fairly modern rounds. Maybe some cop shop confiscated them, had no need for them in their service pistols, and dumped them? I guess I doubt that. Good advice on Don't Fire Em.

The 'buckle' does look like the sort of flat chain like those used in a manure spreader to move the cross-bars back toward the Spinning Flingers.

Looks like a latch from a suitcase to me!!!! 45 cal. bullets in the butt loads could be Thompson! Latch from a suit case! Dang screams paper money cache to me Langley!!!!

Cool Stuff!!!
