Not as bad as it sounds. 25 degrees and and about an inch or two of snow. Got out today for 2 hours and detected an old ballfield that has become my default hunting grounds. I love it because virtually no trash 'cept for occasional iron bits.
Clad finds are sometimes as deep as the old wheats and indians. I thought this Canadian 1 cent was cool, and I was dissapointed at first, thought it was a play coin, as it was maybe 2" deep. Also found a '17 wheat and a small padlock marked "TERROR".
I also have dug old horseshoes from the field, which was a skating rink around 1900.
