these just returned up in my treasure chest. i have a newer camera and thought why not? im bored. several feet of snow keeps me from t hunting. all though i went to work on my kids house right after posting this and i found two chains both might be plated and a handful of marbles and several other items to disturbing to mention.
As far as I can see.. In Nuemann and Kraviks' there is nothing that resembles these for the period of Revolutionary War.......You may want to try Civil War Era.
im unsure of origin or age. i was told by someone smarter than i that these were 1830 1835 american militia elected officer. if thats the case could they be one of a kind? or would these things be made by the hundreds . this i dont know. every dot on these is actually a five pointed star. i thought the picture would be clearer.
i looked for the book you cited i cant seem to locate it. are there any rev war chains in that book such as cargo chain anchor chain, choke chains, etc etc. i would like to see some links if possible.
yes yours is very similar . the hook is identical with the flower pattern. my links are differant than yours. mine have five pointed stars every where.
