I think the question should rather be, what happened to Marc? I sent him a PM asking this same thing, with no response. It says it is in maitenence mode. That sure has been alot of maintenence for such a small site!

I have moved forums no bigger than Hot Talk's forum in a few hours from one host to another --- and did a software upgrade too. Unless there is a problem with the database, I'm beginning to believe it is history.

Too bad. Oh well, was fun while it lasted, except for what happened to me . . . but that's a story for another thread.

It appeared that at last there was to be meaningful discourse and I was pleased the way things were progressing. I do miss the conversations and sharing of ideas about many subjects.
I also hope there is no cause to worry about Marc; perhaps he is on holiday....

It was really nice though, no trolls after the mods were appointed. Wonder if it will come back, or if someone should just "reinvent" that site for the members here who enjoy those discussions.

As mentioned things had progressed to where people were having real conversations and the poison was dying down. Here is your challenge pigiron....try and add to a conversation and not just stir the pot to get negative feedback. This is a great forum...with people of all walks of life that are willing to make a positive mark in other peoples lives. Willing to share their life experiences to enhance others...can you please do that as well. I am sure beyond a shadow of doubt that you are good at something and we could all learn from it...you will sleep much better at night when you start to be a giver instead of just a trouble maker. Thank you and I pray that I am not out of line here...if I am I will pull the remark...I will let others decide and will keep an eye on the feedback. First five remarks will decide if I pull it.

Unfortunately, some folks either had to have it their way, or they left like the coward they were. Soon as there was some order added to the site, the troublemakers like Goldilocks and some other person who shall remain nameless, grabbed their toys and went home like children.

The racial slurs, and the hatred coming from the left is unbelieveable. If you don't agree that you should give them what you worked to earn, then you're just hateful and uncaring. So, yes, if that is how you define hateful and uncaring, maybe I am. I just give of my time and money to causes that help my community, but that's just not the same as letting government take what they want and decide who should get it based on their unwillingness to contribute to society.

I went there and read the many posts...some were very meaningful..I only saw a couple of people there causing discourse...One was a poster called Goldilocks who's writing and remarks seemed so like yours...so is the mirror now facing in if a moderator actually did have a breakdown?

Thar's great Texastee that your keeping an eye on things. You have mentioned it twice now. Be sure to send me a copy of your report to the moderators wont you when your done.

By the way "Discourse" is not caused. Check out the meaning as used in the expression "meaningful discourse" as I quoted from AU24K.
Felinepeachy's(a moderator) parting words from the forum were words to the effect that "if we all agree with each other there's nothing to talk/argue/debate/discuss about"
I agree fully with this level headed person and wish to add that trouble is usually caused by those with glass jaws. i.e., those who constantly complain when they get so easily offended.
If you cannot debate or appreciate other peoples opinion then Don't.

It's sad to see someone putdown the mentally challenged (intellectually disabled). If one such person were reading Capp's post I'm sure they would feel hurt. 3 in 100 people are affected with this disability which translates to 10million Americans.

I'm guessing Pig is talking (attacking) of me, where I pulled all his thread's ,since i couldn't officially bann him (though told I could as a moderator) as he was causing problems for other posters, pullouting good threads with his senseless reduric, then reporting others after he got a witty comback.
I didn't disappear my friend I went out of town to work, came back yesterday found hotalk gone, and found this thread just now..

But I do agree with one poster here. Its ridiculous to have a forum to just dump those that feel strongly about politics into,(with no audience that is willing to learn anything) (and Tnets not the place) and besides there are other (better) ways to put the truth out there I have found of late, Face book... twitter,,,,, and I bet some that others might suggest.
If their are those here that actually care about the way our current administration is bulldozing past the laws put down by our founding fathers to promote his own socialist agendas i suggest finding other ways to get the truth out.
