Hi everyone. Over my life I spent a lot of time outdoors, fishing, hunting, detecting and work.
In the Sun. I never took care. As Im older now I had a cancerous skin issue cut out, was a bad one and thankfully it was fully removed. A check today, 6 yrs later all clear. I too had biopsy done on my lips, malenomas in several places, a few years ago, came back ok but check again, they can turn.
I went to a specialist today. Had my whole body checked. Our sun here in OZ is crazy and we have big rates of skin cancer. My lips have been feeling weird for a few months.
A great specialist checked me today. Im ok, but on the edge, but as a precaution they are going to do a procedure in 8 weeks to kill the damaged cells. To be honest I was very concerned as I have had pain and odd feelings in my lips. There are several very dark patches in them too. I was assured it will kill those cells and be ok. Big relief.
Anyone reading this, cover up, take care of your body and especially your face.

I farmed for 45+ years and was in the sun constantly. No problems yet (knock on wood). Now that I have CLL, I am highly susceptible to skin cancer and try to stay out of the sun as much as possible.

I've had skin cancers for the past 30 years , some get cut out ,some get froze off and on my lips I did a chemo treatment called fluorouracil every day for a month . it kills all the cancer and leaves lots of scabs , I stayed home from work for 3 weeks to lower the risk of infection since I worked a pretty dirty job.
now retired I wear long sleeves ,long pants and a wide brim hat everyday of the year. spf 15 chap stick spf 50 on back of hands ,neck and chest.
Good luck in your treatment and if you're doing fluorouracil expect to feel bad and to look like hell for a month or so then all will be good

I had a biopsy done of a small scab that would heal then reappear over and over. This went on for a while until I got it checked out, only to fi d it was basil cell. Not the end of my world but it was just above my upper lip.....the doc determined it had to be cut out which left a scar and prevented me growing back my moustach, due to the scar. They say that a burn from ten years ago can surface as cancer today. So yea, be careful out there.

Hi, yeah I had the choice of some cream that I put on twice a day for a couple of weeks or a one hit job where they put another on and let it absorb for im not sure hour or so, then my lips will get some high strength light treatment for an hour which will target and kill the bad cells.
Im getting that, will be scabby and crapy for a week they reckon.
Yeah I cover right up out there, long sleeve fishing shirts, an adapta cap, you can pull it right up to cover you whole face, cool to wear too as in not hot.

I spent the majority of my life in the open,commercial roofing contractor for 40 years,U.S.Marine,construction worker. Now at 70 I get those scabby,itchy,pre cancerous lesions on the arms,and face all the time.I go to my skin Dr. at the VA and she freezes them mostly.It,s an irritation but beats having a full scale cancer develop. All you young guys and gals,cover up, if you don,t you will develop these things later. You old guys and gals,learn the signs and get em treated early.The life you save may be yours!

Could say funny you say that about secondary infection, but its not funny and good advice. I was given a prescription by the Dr Specialist of some tablets or capsules to take 2 a day each day before the procedure. I'll be happy if its a success as its been driving me mad on and off with discomfort and pain. The procedure is Photo... something or other. He said its not a recognised treatment yet for it but they have seen the best results for it.
Hey, not the same thing. But as I was having the full body check the person stopped, looked, then I said "oh yeah, the big dressing on my leg". A week before going I got bit again by our Aussie White tail spiders. Im so sick and tired of them. Where we live they are everywhere in our homes.
Get a bite and it infects, feels crazy sore, hurts to walk if its ok the leg and takes a few weeks to heal.
So, they took the dressing off and said hmmmm, not sure. After my skin examination the main guy was called in.
"Ahhh, ok, a White tail bite, doesn't look good (wound was a bit black) im giving you a prescription for some antibiotics. Dress it twice a day, use (i thought huh!?) Vaseline!
This is why. I was told our Whitetails are one of the dirtiest spiders in the world! It was thought it was the venom, its not, they carry on them huge amounts of germs and bacteria as they are travellers, no webs, just crawl everywhere over everything picking up everything they go over. The person said "they are the dirtiest spider in Australia". So my infection wasn't venom, its bacterial. I hate them with a passion. I have been bit twice a yr easy for yrs. But at least now I know how to treat them. Mongrel things they are.
And the Vaseline is to keep it moist. Other creams dry out too early they said. The antibiotics will kill the bacteria, but it needs to be kept moist to heal faster.

Diatomaceous earth is a powder containing about 80%-90% silica. Diatomaceous earth is thought to kill insects by dehydrating them or drying them out

Warning: When applying the DE wear a N95 as the product is silica and can irritate the lungs. 2 lbs will cover 2 acres of land-that's how fine it is, and effective.
Once it's done on the surface it's totally harmless to pets, and you. We use for skin issues on pets, and even ourselves if we rash up.

Natural Spider Repellent

1. Find the locations around your house where you have seen spiders coming in. ...
2. Take some Crawling Insect Control DE and sprinkle it around the areas where you see bugs or spiders crawling. ...
3. After a week, go visit where you deposited your DE, sweep it up or vacuum it.

When I want to kill bugs and spiders without harmful pesticides I use 20 mule team Borax . Borax (sodium tetraborate decahydrate) is a powder that is usually used in the laundry is also used to control cockroaches or ants. It is effective when sprinkled in out-of-the-way places where spiders and insects hide. I sprinkle it in the cracks between the window and the storm or screen window.

There has been cases, quite a lot, that needed skin grafts and wounds took months to heal. It was thought it was the bite. But recently its them being dirty germ bacteria carriers. Treatments since it was realised has greatly, I was told, changed recovery. I still hate them utterly. I bet I see at least 2 to 3 in the next week. I killed one just yesterday.

NOTE: It is a non discriminating solution-takes out the good with the bad when it come to bugs.

Those are nasty spiders that really cause an issue.

The Brown Recluse here is a problem getting bit, in a day it can look like the flesh eating disease from the bite. I ended up in Emerg. once for a bite along the sock line.
As we age the lower extremities take longer to heal also from the depletion of blood flow.

All my bad bites were in that lower leg area too! My last one before this one was bad and I couldn't walk without pain for two to three weeks. Im bettiing its the same type of spider. Ours has a typical white tip right near the end of its abdomen. Yours may not but the outcome sounds exactly the same. Some here need skin grafts and others have near lost parts!

I have had as iv gotten older, now into my low 60s, around my ankles, skin get brown. That specialist when I asked said "yes, I see some veins there, thats Iron leaching into the outer skin, it happens in the lower areas like that with some as they age, nothing to worry about".
I said "so its just me getting older then!?"
Answer "yes don't worry".
😕 So.... the past several months iv been getting.....im just getting old.

A close friend has had some amazing results taking the supplement.
The Dr stated that Horsechestnut has to be harvested from a real good source so to be weary of cheap brands.

Horse chestnut. I'll look that up if we can get it here. Some things I get from a US site that distributes here I Herb. Lots of things from California. Many of the products here are twice the price here in Oz but from there half the price, the exact same thing from IHerb.
Never seen an ugly spider like that here. But it sounds they deliver the same outcome.
