Talmadge TN

[DDS1997]

Anyone know of a community or area in Blount County called Talmadge? Supposedly existed in the 1800's possibly SE of Binfield.

I realize this is an old thread, but I just wanted to reply in case you're still checking in on it.
I have just recently begun researching this potential site. If the tales are true, it would be a little more than 2 hours from where I'm located in Nashville, TN.

fwiw, I'm near there and have heard of it but it doesn't show up in a casual search. I'll ask my relatives if they know.


3/8/17 eta: one relative 'thought' he may have heard of it, but no luck otherwise here.

I used to live in Maryville from 82 to 98.. that name sure rings a bell.. sounds like a rural part of Blount or Knox county.

I've got an old map I found on the web when I was researching an 18th century Fort in between Maryville and Seymour.. I'll look for it and post back what I find.
