Minelab Explorer II
Hi all. So I just started using my explorer II and the FE/target ID numbers seem off to me. I have tried the factory setting and reject all except coins and jewelry, I keep getting great FE numbers like FE 0/CO 25,then dig to find a bottle top or aluminum scrap. Am I doing something wrong or is the smart display just not accurate at all? Is their anything I can do to program to get better readings?

The numbers arent necessarily accurate at all times. lots of things come into factor, ground mineral, depth and age of the target. Also, some pull tabs and screw caps will read just like coins so prepare to dig them along with the good stuff, its just part of the game. Im fairly new to the explorer myself but i have dug my share of screw tops using my old whites and bounty hunter. Stop looking at the screen and just dig all good sounding signals in the coin jewerly program until you get more comfortable with it. This is the only way i started to learn. I am slowly using less and less discrimination but i go off the sound of the machine 90 percent of the time. Just my two cents. Sam
