Tarnish on Dug Silver

Is it normal for tarnish to develop on dug silver coins? On a few of my Roosevelt’s I’ve dug they are developing a yellowish/gold color to them. They came out of the ground looking like new.

Here in Mi silver comes out of the ground like it was dropped the same day
