teller * tells me shes got $5 in "burnt" looking halfs when i ask if she has any
when she holds one up --I see thet are "tarnished" silvers not burnt coins ** oh ya --staying cool I say "yah I'll take em" -- of the 10 coins -- 7 are 40% (65 to 70) and 1 is a 90% (64) -- since I was headed to the coin store anyway its fast and easy money -- for the $4 invested -- I get back $34.50 --net profiet $30.50 cents -- not bad for "free" ---the funny part was there were 2 young tellers working the drive thru window and as they were giving me them -- they asked if I collected them for silver, because one of the older tellers had told them to check the edge for "brown" -no brown means silver they said * -- well I was not about to enlighten them about the "brown edged" 1965 to 1970 -40% ers -- if the older "silver" blocking teller didn't clue them in --I sure as heck wasn't going to. --what cut my own throat ?---the one young gal asked if a 1930 something "big silver" dollar was worth much -- I said a bit due to silver content but the coins condition means a lot as well. (current melt on a 90% silver dollar is $28.63)
