Brings my dime averages down slightly to 84 silvers from 63.5 boxes. 1.32/box!
$200 in Nickels (2 boxes)
Box1: A huge hole filler in a 1938D in great condition (no steps, but close). Add in 33 pre 1960s and 1 hoser nickel
Box2: 1943P Silver War Nickel, 2 hosers, and a 30 pre 1960s.
Running average is 14 war nickels out of 19 boxes. 0.73/box!
Last week's road trip to a never before traveled rural area sucked. Only found $78 in clad halves across 10 banks. Did another road trip this Friday....$260 in halves, most in hand rolled halves...1 teller gave me the bag off the counter, but cherry picked it infront of me so I just walked out without saying "no thank you" or "get bent". I've gotten silver at that bank before, but a different teller this time, don't think I'm going back, as the tellers may have caught on. I did manage to find a 1968 JFK in loose at one of the last banks I went to.
Overall for the week, about $1500 searched, a 40% half and a war nickel to show for it. The 1938D puts a "silver" lining on the storm cloud though...
Brewers won, Badgers gave the huskers a proper welcome to a REAL football conference, and the Pack smoked the spread and won me a nice bottle of small batch dark rum from a local distillery in a bet at work. What did I risk? A case of Spotted Cow from New Glarius.
