Hunted a new spot today that I found a couple weeks ago. It was apparently a mixed camp used by Union and Confederate soldiers as a rest stop as I’ve found relics from both sides here. I dug part of a bridle, three eagle buttons, a Burnside casing some camp lead, part of a melted Gardner bullet, a broken spoon and an unknown brass shield. Eventually I got a deep iffy signal and dug this Texas button that had been flattened into a poker chip. Wish it hadn’t been flattened, but I was glad to find it, first Texas button I ever dug.

I also found the top from a powder flask as well.

Flattened or not, that is my white whale. While battling jealousy at the moment, I want to simply state: Nicely done!
