:roll: I will be on Padre Island Sunday Treasure Hunting the beach (for the first time) right after the simi-huricane. Any tips and suggestions regarding this would be appreciated. I will be using a Garrett GTAx750, anyone familiar with it? I do know to rap up the batter cover tightly with plastic and tape and of course the monitor. I have a couple of home made scoops / sifters that I think will work too. Does anyone no about the law down there

rad, go with what vp is saying, i have also heard that the area is a protected area. check with the nation park service. some of those fines can make a bad day. boomer

VP is right... Padre Island is a National/State Park and metal detecting is illegal.
