A few months back, Mia sent me a used computer she no longer needed. We had chatted a bit about how I refurbish computers for donation. She also sent this on her nickel.
After a short delay, I freshened the entire system (bios, O/S etc) and added the free versions of Avast and Zonealarm along with Ad-aware to help keep it healthy and tossed in a cheat-sheet on how to use those programs.
Yesterday the computer, along with a 17 inch flat panel monitor and older printer was given to a family with two middle school kids who will (hopefully) make good use of it. (I did ask if I could post a picture of the family with it but they declined)
With more people scrapping older PC's, it's getting more difficult to locate rebuildable computers for donation. Thank you Mia, for your generosity!
