Nice button,,swing ahead!!!!,, once you get that junk out of an area those deep goodies will start ringing in!!! :headbang:

Thanks guys... Support is always welcome...Luck even more....

Good work, it can be frustrating all that trash, but it will always reward you when you least expect it with a nice find!

I don't think 'dig everything' is a statement for every situation/site & for every standard of detectorist. You have to adopt & adapt a strategy that best increases your 'keepers' rate for every different site. Things to consider are the amount of targets/trash at the site; if they are high you may wish to cherry pick to begin with. Your recovery of target time; if its several minutes for each, then you could be wasting time digging trash. The stuff you pictured would take me less than 1 hour to dig, my recovery time is down to less than 30 seconds per target (ie. from the time I hear it until the time its in my pouch), so digging lots in a short period does increase my keepers but it may decrease yours if you dig everything.
The competition you face, you need to have idea what they are doing at the site, you could be helping them by clearing the junk instead of yourself. No competition=more time to do your will.
Ploughed land: this can be done year on year & brings up new stuff on every deep plough. But this style of detecting is about area covered not targets dug. The larger the area you do the better the results, but you can take a longer term strategy & clear stuff year after year, so less of a hurry to dig it all.
The most important thing is to learn the different sounds & remember what the machine is saying & because you have been digging it all, at least you will start to understand it. My rules are simple, have the Sensitivity as high as the ground conditions allow & the disc off, listern to it all & you decide. This does not suit everyone & might need a different approach for the first couple of years.
There are plenty of other factors which I won't bore you with, but basically be flexible.

Sweet button and good job with the digs. Keep up the good work.

Genuine photographic evidence of why you carry out everything that you dig up. Never leave it in the ground. The next time you go back to this spot, there will be much less trash for your machine to work around. This will probably increase the quality of your finds. Now that deep silver dime will be findable since the large piece of trash that once protected it is gone.

Looks like what most of us dig, now the good stuff will follow. It also explains why some of the more experienced dirt farmers go back to the same spot time and time again. When the trash is almost gone, the finds get fewer, but much nicer.

Just keep doing what you are doing, it will pay off.

Good luck!

Bob

Welcome to T-Net 28138digger. Notice tou are from Rockwell-I grew up in Salisbury. Always wanted to try the area at Granite Lake-is it still there? You also may want to drive down to where they are putting up the new bridge over the Yadkin River and see if any places you can detect. There was a Civil War battle close by-may find some artifacts. Might also want to try the boat ramp just off old 85 at the bridge. A fellow detectorist told me he had found lots of bullets in that area.
Good luck!!

welcone to tnet nice find   :hello:

Hmmm, :icon_scratch:

None of this stuff looks very old... :dontknow: You need to make sure your sites are older untouched areas!! :icon_thumleft: A old park that has been landscaped or filled a lot won't have old stuff. ??? A new park may have jewelery but no real old coins. :hello2: In the case of a new park you should dig most everything. :headbang: An older untouched area should have easy pickings, sure you can find old stuff at a modern site but not very often.... Hope this helps !! :notworthy:

Keep @ it and HH !! :D ;D

this is perfect use of smileys right here great job. And I agree with you.

When you dig "everything", dig all non-ferrous signals. Ferrous is iron. You might still pull up a lot of trash, but your good find rate will improve. Remember that foil to aluminum signals can also be gold. Good luck on your hunts my friend.

well for me, it's a huge pile of trash and junque before I find something worth keeping. :hello:

congrats on the button! I'd be tickled pink with that!

Super button find :o
Good advise from Crusader.
I 'Dig Everything' according to conditions.
those low tones can yield great finds, Old pewter, & gold ;D
Keep em Comin
