Calabash's deep silver setting made a big difference today, one very nice Sterling Ring, two Mercury Dimes and an assortment of clad, all were I had hunted before. I will post pics later, ... here are the settings;

Stock Coil
Park
M2
Recovery speed 4
Iron filter 2
Stability 5
Audio gain 4
60 tones

I'm a believer, it worked! Thanks Calabash!

If you don't have lots of trash in the soil, try switching to M1 or M3 (in most soils they go deeper, as M2 favors higher frequencies), lowering your recovery even more (lower recovery is like a sustain pedal on the grand piano, IYKWIM) and switching to pitch (it's much easier to notice a subtle "wow" than "eeh").

I thought M1 would be deeper too on Silver in my MILD soil but its not and it will not unmask even close to M2...

Congrats!

I won't be surprised if M1 will go deeper in hotter soils though. But yeah, M2 is my go-to frequency too, I only ever change it if the site is severely littered with tiny pieces of foil (like many virgin tot lots, for example).
