Thanks dwayne sueno!! Smokin' 1820 Large Cent from the new field !

On Monday I posted an 1819 Large Cent that I had found that afternoon in a field directly behind my dads house. In that post I stated that I had found 1817, 1818, now 1819. dwayne sueno said that there had to be an 1820 in there some where. There was....

Early this morning I hiked into two dirrerent spots to see if they were any good. They had been hunted before. Iron on top of almost every rock....... I may go back with the sniper coil as both of them are very old.
I said to myself "I may as well go back to the new field to find that 1820 LC." The very first hole dug was the fancy flat button. A few pieces of junk later I got the signal that I was lookin' for!
BAM !! 1820 Large Cent !! I still have grin pains

So I guess that a Thank You goes out to dwayne sueno for the words of direction for the Metal Detecting gods to be there today

Hey way to go, I absolutely LOVE that button you found. It looks like a fleur de lis design amongst it. I have not seen one exactly like it. I think its very awesome as far as buttons go. I love buttons, they rock.

I agree on the odds of finding the 1821, but you never know......

I was pretty stoked when she came out of the ground! Cleaned up way better than I thought it would. I will be going back next weekend, weather permitting.

That's a very nice gesture! If it does happen I think it should stay in the "set" though.

Nice Largie, VPR............and she cleaned up well, too I haven't found any LC's for a while and need to. It's all about, location, location location. And by the looks of it you did find a good location

Yes, I used a hot peroxide bath. When I saw that the overall condition of thr coin was nice, I used the point of a toothpick to get the tough stuff. I always finish my cleaning with a coat of Vaseline.

I must say that I am lucky because the soil arround here does seem to be good to copper.
