Thanks Mom, for the quarters

I know these were not found roll hunting, but thought i'd post about an elusive silver coin. Mom gave me these back in May, when I was seriously into CRHing and when I started to talk about it, she'd quickly change the subject.
Turns out she had her own little stash from when grandma passed, she gave the sack of coins to me, containing Bi-cent halves (ha!), merc dimes, silver Kennedys, silver Roosevelts, etc. Included were these 7 silver Washingtons, which I promptly dipped, (they finish brilliantly).

My mom gave me about 5 silver quarters and 3 mercs a few years ago that she found in pocket change.

My Mom gave me 2 Mercs earlier this year she got as change. Of course I'm the baby so she likes me best

I was speaking with my mom on the matter of silver coins a while back.
She said when the coinage changed people everywhere horded and held onto what silver they had! she told me she has some but they are packed away. wish I knew or could see! If its packed...its packed up good.
But A lot of people were very upset when silver was taken away. She said the new clad coins just seemed and felt cheap.

My grandpa passed away last year, he always hoarded his pocket change and any other silver he could get his hands on, well my mom and 5 other aunts and uncles divied up all of his silver. My ma just gave them all to me as she knew that I would always have them and it was my grandpa that got me into collecting (my brother got nothing as he doesn't like coin collecting) - LOL I hoard too...

Its not all of it, but it is a good portion.
