Thanks to crazy mowing - 2 Silver 1st's at the park!

Went to the park I've been detecting that was once a old camping area. They mow on a regular scheduled, but the mowed areas are surrounded by deep ivy patches that tangles when you try to swing close to the ground.

Well, I guess a bee or wasp distracted the mower operator as there was about a ragged 3'X 9' swath cut into the Ivy that wasn't been there before - well heck, gotta swing it!

Holy Guacamole! (insert excited noise)

All three found about 2' from each other - A cool toll token, first double silver day and old silver to boot.

Wow, just wow - I felt like I just kissed Daniel Craig!

I wonder if a little bribery to the mower operator is in order? :)

Thanks for looking and HH

Nice finds! Get the mower operator a case of beer and see if that will motivate him to cut some more of the ivy out of the way.

Nice! Double old silver! Congrats! Oh heck ya get the mow guy a case if beer! And if that doesn't work offer to "mow" while he takes a break.

Nice silver ! Ask him if you can you use a weedeater to help out :icon_thumleft:

I would for sure try it again in late fall or even winter when there is less ground cover to work around. That patch around the ivy may be loaded

Borrow Carolina Toms goats and let them at it. Just tell him you'll have them back by the weekend.

That's hittin' it on the head. Nice job!

heck yeah!, get that operator a case of brewskies and hit that area hard!, man theres gotta be more!

Very nice silvers, congrats :occasion14:

Outstanding to get two nice old silver quarters - hope you can access more of that area !

When the park crews cut back the brush and weeds in some of the old parks around Cincinnati we have that kind of luck. Two nice old siilvers and I like your token found today.

Nice silvers, congratulations

Ummmm....yeah, BRIBE that guy/gal and get through the ivy! Congratulations on a great day.

Great looking Quarters.

Thanks for the comebacks everyone! Went over and GPS'ed the spot for future checking.

Thinking about a 1/2 sheet plywood as a ivy squishier downer this winter - go in off the edges and work my way back.

Wow that really gets you wondering what other beauties are hiding in there! I think I would have to try a tiny coil and wiggle it through :)

BOY MOLE GOT SOME NICE COINS THAT POPPED OUT THE HOLES.

LOL funny picture in my mind of that mower guy eratically mowing due to bees :laughing7: If you're cute, flirt with the guy and get him to cut the rest of the ivy for you  Very funny story and nice finds!!

Congrats on taking advantage of the situation. It paid off nicely. :occasion14: Who wouldn't like to dig those 2 silvers?

A little gift of some brews or a bottle of his favorite aged single malt may go a long way to opening up new possibilities :occasion14:
