Bought an AT Pro a while back and i am happy with it, but one detector is not enough...lol. Looking at the F5, F75, and the cz3d....almost bought the cz when i got my atp. Anyway, i hunt for coins and relics...mostly older home sites or homes still used. I need a machine that can weed through massive amounts of iron junk in one spot but weed through the pull tabs and cans at another. Love the simplicity of the cz, but not crazy about the weight. I definately want a deep machine and i beleive these should be...Any suggestions???

I'm a fan of the F-75. Nothing wrong with the CZ-3D. I'm just not as familiar with it. I know the F-75 is fast and I can find coins under or near iron. That's a great benefit in trashy sites or old holesites. Add the 6.5" elliptical coil and it gets in tight places.

Charlie is right about the F75 being extremely good for what you want to do.

I really like the F70 also

I like the Teknetics G2, it has the 2nd most accurate ID at depth after AT Pro (close to correct & consistent), & also great for finding goodies next to iron as it uses dual processors, normal volume with big ID#s for accepted items & soft beeps with tiny #s for rejected items & iron ground beeps. About $700, plus another $150 or so if you want the 5" Teknetics coil that has almost the same depth (10" air test on a dime) as the stock coil, about 10.5". One of the top Explorer experts went to this model & says it does great in iron. Seems fairly simple & is lightweight.

The new Teknetics Eurotek Pro (under $300) is supposed to have good ID at depth & it has special features for iron ID. Designed for Europe where they have 1,000 years of iron build-up. Part of the reason for the lower cost is it does not have manual ground balance (but does good in most ground). Very simple & lightweight. Best wishes, George (MN)

In my other post here I forgot to mention the Teknetics G2 & Fisher Gold Bud Pro DP have the same innards, just a different handle? G2 very stable & IDs my 5" deep dime with sensitivity at 12 out of 100. Besides the 5" DD coil option, there is a 5x10, too.

Had the F70 & while very powerful when turned up was not stable & IDs all over & seemed to make popping sounds on something (hot rocks, maybe). Don't know if the one I had was defective or otherwise couldn't handle my ground or if I was misadjusting this fairly complex (to me) detector.

I'll also suggest the F75 SE as it is a proven relic and coin hunting machine, and in my opinion would work well as either a primary or complimentary second machine to find the items your other machine might miss.

Thanks guys.....the F75 is a bit higher priced but i am going to try to find one that i can try out....What is the difference in the F75 and the T2? I ask because a friend just ordered a T2....he seems to think the T2 is more of a relic machine and the F75 more of a coin machine. Is this true? If so, the T2 would definately be for him....and the F75 for me....

I have a F5. I like it's ability to find things my F2 wont when it comes to Relics. However... my F2 with it's 4" sniper coil is a beast at finding coins in trashy areas. Basically if your looking for a backup detector.... I would say F2/F4 (leaning towards F4 since it has manual ground balance). But the F5... with it's display screen of information. To me it can't be beat.

Here are a few differences between the two....

T2 has no backlight, F75 does
T2 does not retain your settings when turned off. The F75 does
T2 in boost mode is limited to 2 tones. F75 doesnt have this limit
T2 all metal is motion only, F75 is static and motion
T2 has a wider iron range than the F75
T2 does not have a notch feature, F75 does

Your friend is right... on paper anyways. But if you dig through user reports of both coinshooters and relic hunters alike, you will find lots of users who claim the T2 is better, and lots who claim the F75 is better. Either way, I dont think you can go wrong. Just pick based on features you want and price, then enjoy!

Finally - beware of counterfeit detectors! There are lots of knock of T2s out there... and probably F75s as well. Buy from a reputable dealer or someone you trust if buying used.

Thanks......very informative.....

Between F75 and T2? I'd go with T2 because it's cheaper. But if they were priced the same, I'd pick the F75. I've heard of people saying the F75 is a, I don't know how to say it but hotter/noisier machine?

I can highly recommend the CZ. What a great machine that compliments the ATP well. It's wicked deep, will pick the nickels through the pull tabs, LOVES old coins, dual freq, simple and effective.
You mentioned the weight being an issue. It's very easily hip mounted and becomes super light and still maintains an easy ergo. It also has a 5" coil available making it easier to swing. The 5" coil will will deep stuff too while giving you added separation. I use it most of the time and only use the 8" if I want to cover larger, cleaner ground.
If it has one weakness, I'd say bottle caps. It doesn't have tone roll like the ATP and sometimes calls out a cap as a coin. I can 99/100 tell a bottle cap on my ATP, and 50/50 with my 3D.
CZ-3D FTW!

thry a first texas instument
it's the same company

Try a spell check, it's free!

I have the F2, but seriously thinking of getting an AT Pro from Garrett! I'd be using the AT pro as my main and F2 as the back up machine. Still, I love my Fisher!

Had the G2 and loved it but have been in some really deep stuff in some of the areas I hunt near the TN River. I got the T2 to replace it due to it's reputation for depth and really like it as well. It is incredible how the 5 inch coil does in the trash and still get smoking hot depth. The T2 will easily hit an 9 inch dime with the small coil when using stable settings. Had a friend tell me BS on that one till I took him to the test garden and let him try his detector then the T2. The boost mode slows the return down a bit so it is not the best for heavy trash but incredible depth. I don't use it as much as I probably should because it falses a bit more and makes you recheck signals, but all and all still does a good job (I have been hunting primarily old home sites that are really loaded with iron trash). The boost mode also likes a bit slower sweep speed. From what I understand the F75 and T2 share the same technology but differ a bit in software application and bells and whistles. The depth and trash hunting capabilities are supposed to be very similar. :icon_thumleft:

What information did you use to say the AT Pro has the most accurate ID at depth? I found it to be just the opposite and can think of several detectors that will ID at depth better than the AT Pro. I had a Eurotek Pro and found it to be too sensitive to EMI to the point that the sensitivity had to be lowered to the point of neutering the detector. I would highly recommend the CZ if you are looking to go deep. I have owned and used most of the top end detectors and I can tell you from experience that the CZ5 will go as deep or deeper than the ones that I have used including the XP Deus and the Etrac.

IBbadger where in Central Wisconsin are you located. I am in Wisconsin Rapids. Would love to hear from you
