I took this pic yesterday, when I passed, there was a bigger one right beside it, but it under before I could get a picture

So that's what kind that is, we hav painter turtles up in WI, but they have a flatter type shell, not as big as that fellow.

MG, ever eat a snapper? They are pretty good.

snapper is pretty good, don't know about painted.

that one is a small one one, that pipe is only about 16 inches across.
the one that was next to it was about twice that size

I imagine that's why they call it a painted box, beacues of the shape of the shell.


Ever just find the shell laying around? I find one every once in a while, but I figure they are just out skinny dippin'

Nope Serger I've never had the chance to eat turtle! When I was a kid it was so easy to go out and find them quite often in the yard they'd come over the tracks across the street. But not anymore?

They hate to have to go back in 'that cold water' this time of year.
