A few years ago this popped up and has been growing back ever since. It can have up to 5-6 flowers at a time, this year it seems like it may only have 2. It grows dead center off the back of the deck, couldn't have done a better job myself. :D

I think my best sunflowers ever came from ones that I did not plant, eg: Squirrels taking them from the feeders and burying them in compost pile! :)
My best pumpkins came from the same pile, they grew from the kids Halloween pumkins that were discarded on the compost pile.

Nice photos CG.

Beautiful pic of the sunflower. Must be in a protective area, cause the ones that sprout here don't stand a chance of getting no more than 5" tall.

This one is 5' tall and grows right next to the concrete deck, not really protected. I just can't believe it comes back every year and has multiple flowers on the one stock. I love sun flowers, but usually they droop and look sad after a couple of days. This one stands proud always. :D

I like them too... I remember driving down the roads in Spain and seeing an ocean of them - thousands of acres of sunflowers... man what a sight!

That's great that it returns every year CG...and a nice ic too ;)
