THE CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT

!!!! RIVERRAT !!!!

I had this under 'anniversary' but just in case Ms Judie---

OK,RiverRat,first,Thank You for the well wishes.Second,I hope you are not thinking about skipping the hunt? We ain't gonna have none of that! I'll turn you into the Am Legion for even thinkin' that way.I was hoping to win one of those great walking sticks you made last year.Me,Burdie, and Monty are up there where them 'sticks' are really appreciated and we don't have to get up to whack someone who needs it.Come on now,you and your A$$ really made it a lot of fun last oct and I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys again. You'll have big fun,I guarantee!

'Daddy, I sent her a PM. She and her A$$ must be out on the road on their motorcycles somewhere. We'll keep trying. She'll come around if they don't have other plans. I'll go downstate/across state and drag her back up! Those sticks are nice, aren't they? I passed mine on to my 84-year-old dad. He loves it!

JUUUUDIIIIIIIIIII ... RR ... where AAAAARE youuuuuuuu??

Roswellborn Nan ... who ya bringin' with ya this trip?? The list looks great! Familiar faces and some new ones. I finally get to meet Gypsy and her girls!! Gotta go shopping now and find me some of Nana's cargo pants... Great to see you're coming, too, Monty! FunFunFun!! -Noodle

Just in case anyone is interested - as some of you know,I have about 10,000 songs on cassettes.Classical, pop, country, from the 20's,30's,40's,50's,60's and a smathering of later stuff.I'm starting to lose some of them because I fail to run them thru twice a yr,however, for the attendees,if any of you would like a tape made with certain songs,I'll be glad and do it (no charge).I know a lot of you are just into mp3's/cd's and my son installed a player in my tower where I can put a tape in and it records to my computer but getting it from there to a cd or mp3 I'm lost,so it's a cassette or nothing. At least 15 songs for a 60min tape or 24-28 for a 90min.These are not professional now.A lot of them are from concerts, stage, radio, etc. For instance,I have 100 songs by Patsy Cline, many she didn't record, like Waywardwind. But I have most of the top artists in all of the music. My email is acting up right now,so just post them here or I guess a pm is not connected to email.I know Itunes is easy but like I said,if they didn't record it,I may still have it.Pls state what artist you want the song by,original or ? Like Al Hibbler recorded Unchained Melody in'55 and the Righteous Bros did it in the 60's or 70's (better version).Been collecting a long time,I still have about 200 records to record from.Go ahead, stump me! For attendees only! Right now, anyway.Sorry youngins,no acid and no rap.

Hot dawg, we're gearin' up for a Good Time!

A friend of mine lives just outside of Wichita, we were bestest buddies back in the day, lost contact, found each other again (she found me, to be accurate) - one of those deals. (She remembers the "cavity-finder fudge" from when my mom was still around - that long ago!)

Anyway, I figured I'd head out there early, have me a very spiffy visit with her, then drag her with me to the hunt. Ok, she's looking forward to it, too (I think) - wouldn't be much "dragging" to it. Oh, and she lives right next to a very LARGE field... I have hopes. :D

I can see it now: Friend gets hooked on MDing while we goof around in that field, we come to the hunt, and she's ready to go MDing (can I join the A$$es on a temporary basis?). But, I think she'd need to sign up here on TNet - SOON - if she wanted to do some MDing. Hmm.

Hubby may or may not go; depends. It may sound kinda stoopid, but to us it matters: Our dog is aging rapidly. She's already blind, beginning to lose her hearing, and just not in the pink of condition, y'know? Basically, we can kinda see the writing on the wall. We - well, we just don't know... It would be cruel to board her in a kennel at this point. So, dunno. He'll be paid for though, just in case.

Gotta have Judie! What if we find another whatever-the-heck big thing?! (d'ya suppose that was the "ringer" for a triangle to call everyone in to supper? kinda big, tho') Yep, gotta have Judie, too.

Old faces, new faces - and gypsy, too! Oh, this is gonna be fun!

Howdy Y'all!!

This looks like another grand old time get together, A$$es and all. I'm still down & out with my back but I'm slowly on the mend...too slow for me. I have so many things I need to get done & can't do them as I once could. Time is limited just on the computer, sitting too long gets my feet & legs tingling. The meds are keeping me limited too.

Son's wedding plans are keeping me on my toes...and making me a nervous wreck. I'm trying to do my best to help with renovating of the 130+ year old farm house. We've made plans to try & take a cruise in Oct/Nov time frame...that's still up in the air.

If I could, I really would be there. :'( I know I'm gonna miss seeing all of y'all again plus some new faces...I see Gypsy has signed up...dang, well maybe next time we'll meet. I have all of y'all in my heart, cause y'all are the bestest.

:-*

RR,didn't know about your pain.Maybe this hot weather will help some.AS far as that Oct/Nov cruise is concerned, you'd do better to just cruise up to KS.Everybody gets sick now out on that water on those ships.Seriously though,I hope they can find some relief for you with the meds and tell your A$$ that massages can help too!It does sound like your bucket is full with wedding plans and remodeling, but take time out for yourself to relax often during each day.If you really decide not to hunt with us,you will certainly be missed and you are always in our thoughts.God Bless and hope your plans all work out well.

In the meantime, everybody start brushin' up on your 'Western' campfire songs and greasin' up those iron skillets. How does that song go now --- Ol' Dan Tucker was a mighty man,he washed his face in a fryin' pan and ol' Dan Tucker when the west was young, combed his hair with a wagon tongue - Whats some others? Pecos Bill or Pecos Pete?Burdie, are we having a Sat night campfire? If not at the hunt site, maybe at a city park? Gypsy has promised,"O,my God,I've died and gone to Heaven" smores(understand they're constructed from Wisc cheese?)Am I ever gonna see a smore?

You are talking S'meese....not s'more....hahahahaha.....My smores have chocolate..marshmellows ...graham crackers and a secret ingredient..... ;)

"S'meese" ... geez - actually, sounds pretty good.

dang, I'm jonesin for a real s'more now - secret ingredient or not!

WD we have anything you guys want. A country western ho-down at the park sounds good to. I will give you some choices and you can vote on them during the summer months.
My God I can't hardly wait.
Burdie

Burdie, careful using that term 'ho'.Some of the yankees and big city folk associate that term with something entirely different,I hear.

Maybe with all those beefers moving through the trail on Friday we could have T-bone
S'meaks? :D :D :D :D

I hear you WD. We speak 1800's lanquage on the Chisholm Trail. ;D Gypsy we have a real Texan coming to the hunt. He can catch us a steer out of the 400 coming up the trail. Ok Tin Nugget?
Burdie

Burdie, just remind them that they still hang rustlers in this neck of the woods. ;) ;D

BTW and FYI, Fairfield is now set up with the discount for those wanting to stay there. Mention the Chisholm Trail Hunt and it's $60 @ night + tax.

Actually I am a transplanted Virginian. Manassas/Fairfax area. Been here almost four years. My wife on the other hand was born and bred here, big hair and all. Texan through and through. We go to the Mesquite Rodeo sometimes. Might be able to get one of those cowboys to join us if I tell them about the.....ahem.... pink fur lined handcuffs! YIKES!!!! Never mind, somebody might try to make a movie out of that.

This is going to be really neat. Tin Nugget and I have been emailing each other back and forth. Here he is a transplanted Texan from Manassas, VA....and I'm a transplanted Virginian (Manassas) from Enid, OK. LOL

When Warsawdaddy said "Gypsy has promised,"O,my God,I've died and gone to Heaven"....I didn't see the word "smores" after that...........and I thought...WOW....she's going to sing a cowboy song! Not only is she pretty, but she is a history whiz, a metal detectorist, a cook, and now.....she can sing, too! ;D

Don't know about those 'beefers',but with a cathouse nearby,I'm sure we'll have some 'Filly Mignons' in the campsite.

I am sure glad you guys are on line. As much as it has rained here I wouldn't want it to get deeper!! ;D ;D
