The Devil's wash basin
I went camping/hunting this past weekend with a friend of mine. When we got down south we were dissappointed to find that most fields were unavailable due to being so freshly planted. My friend suggested checking out a feature he knew of known as the Devil's wash basin not far from where we were hunting. We arrived there and climbed to the top of a rather steep ridge top. These are photos from this really cool side trip. The first two phots are of the outcropping as it first appears at the ridge top.

On the top of the formation near the edge of about a 25 foot drop of is the Devil's wash basin.

Here's me laying in the basin(the Devil must be a rather small guy).

Down a little ways from the basin on the top of the formation is an old and interesting inscription. It reads "IN MEMORY OF CAPT. WHITE EYES''.

Above the inscription is a carving of an arrow pointing to the right. My friend also mentioned carvings of turkey tracks but we were unable to locate them through the moss.

This is a photo of a cave entrance which is located just under the wash basin.

I tried to scramble up into it but couldn't. I did manage to snap a shot of the interior by holding my camera up.

We scratched the ground around the feature and found numerous flakes even a broken biface.

This was a really awesome thing to see and really fired my imagination.Who was Capt. White Eyes? Who used this cave? Who knapped points on the top of this rock? Cool stuff.
