Did the field aside a roman site and got a couple keepers. The main site was hunted by another detectorist. A few days or hrs late. Again. Happend third time this summer season. Someone is very quick this year and knows the sites... I did pretty well nonetheless.
A good bunch of nice pottery there with lots of Samian ware. Find of the day was the 14th-15th C. heraldic horse pendant with lots of gilt remaining and the Roman Snake head ring. Thanks for the ID Cru!

That pendant is beautiful!

I have had quite a few horse pendants, but if I had that one, it would be the best in terms of gilt left. You have to be pleased with that.
Depending on the size, many of those Roman Snake Head items could also be a child's bracelet piece or the ring as I suggested. It was very popular over here.
A good days hunt.

Nice dig. No one ever gets it all.

That's one great looking pendant, congrats on the find.

It's for sure my best example too. I'd say it's more than 80% gilt left what makes it shine almost like when it was made 700 years ago. Also very well made with the waved edge. My find of the day!

Hey, that`s a neat collection for a day´s hunting.
The pendant looks like it was gold-plated or gold bathed from the pictures?
Good save! congrats

Nice German States 1/24 thaler. Berlin MInt
Can you date it?
It will be either 1764, ,69 or 81-86; most likely an '85 or '86.
Don...

Killer day! I love the horse pendant, incredible workmanship

Yes, a good day, despite the other fellow beating you to it!

Congratualtions on the very nice relics! :occasion14:

Nice assortment Lu. What is the coin (?) with the hole in it, upper left corner of pic. with broken cross? A snake head ring to go with the snake head necklace from a couple of years ago. Hope you get there first next time. Good luck.
