About 3 years ago, I published my new book, "Beale Treasure Revelations: All New Research." Not many copies have sold so I guess not too many treasure hunters are actually treasure researchers. Myself, I always like to research a treasure thoroughly before I put boots on the ground trying to find the treasure.
My book published in 2023, is well documented with references on about every page. There are deeds for the property of the Washington Inn when it was only a town lot #23. The book contains about each and every deed each and every time the property exchanges owners up until the turn of the 20th century.
I have the genealogy of Robert Morris, his father and mother and his brothers and sisters, he had one sister from his father's first marriage. Then I have the genealogy of Sarah Mitchell his wife, a daughter of William Mitchell, Sr. Robert Morris went into business with Sarah's brother, William Mitchell, Jr. in Centreville Virginia up till 1809 then they moved their store and offices to Lynchburg.
This book contains the location of not only Hunter's Hill but Roslin Plantation where Robert Morris died in January, 1863, the home of his niece Anzoletta Saunders wife of David Saunders, Jr. I have all the deeds for the 231-acre Roslin Plantation located in Bedford County Virginia, not in Lynchburg and not in Campbell County. Treasure hunters have never located where Roslin was located many believing it was within the City Limits of Lynchburg.
The same goes for Hunter's Hill again all guesses as to the location. Peter Viemeister was very close when he said Hunter's Hill was located about 3 miles southwest of Lynchburg City. But again, no exact location. I found the deeds; I mapped all of the deeds onto topo-maps laying out each and every survey line of the property. Would you believe, Hunter's Hill, a house everyone believed sat on a hill is now under Lakeland Lake.
I even went as far as to find the cemetery of Hunter's Hill where 5 generations of the Risque and Ward families are buried. I even have a photo of the gravestone of James Beverly Ward, Jr. that was killed in a hunting accident at the young age of 15.
