I have been mding for a little better than two years & have dug a lot of pull tabs as we all have. I have managed to find a few gold rings but all but one came in as a nickel & it read foil on the MXT. For the most part when it reads 21 -32 it is a pull tab or can slaw. Well today I got a golden pull tab, it came in at 32 but sounded higher pitched than the rest so I probed with a screwdriver & nothing. Got out the pin pointer & probed with it, sure enough there was something in the hole so as I was bringing the pin pointer out of the hole low & behold a ring was on the end. Yep my first gold pull tab 14k band. Went back to swinging & pulled out another ring, it is surgical steel with skull & cross bones. $1.50 in clad & called it a day.

I will have to go back tommorrow, as I was leaving one of the grounds keeper came up & told me about a diamond ring that was lost summer & asked if I would try to find it. Hope luck will stay with me for that hunt.

I have yet to find a ring that VDI'd as a pulltab... 24-26 VDI and I can GUARANTEE it is a pull tab... I am beginning to wonder why I even bother digging that range... Now 30 and up I get a little excited, but it just means it is a bigger tab, or one of those chameleon green tabs...
I wish I could send a little electric shock to each and every one of those people that toss pulltabs... I would have half the state jumping up and down... LOL...

Well it was not in the cards, I spent another two hours there & came up with nothing but a cheap cross that had been cut in half by the lawn mower. That & about $5.00 in clad total, looks like I'm going to have to wait for the spot to be replenished.
