Truly dispirited with his passing, had the pleasure of seeing him in his prime a few times [once warming up for Black Sabbath before they hit it big] ... But the fact is, the guy was always in his prime, just an incredible talent.

I won one of these scholarships... . All the legends were great but I was about the Van Halen technique. Humble...patient.. And I was a smart ass egotistic kid!
I attended Monsters of Rock 1988. Van Halen, The Scorpions, Metallica, Dokken, and Kingdom Come. AWESOME!! 5150 tour with Sammy Hagar was also legendary.
