Hit the same field that I got the William and Mary coin the other nite. And not 10 feet away from where I dug that coin, I dug a KG. I only took a picture of the front not much left of it on either side. It was a slow hot afternoon. Only dug this coin and another blank mystery copper. But looking forward to getting back there again.

Yeah thats cool you have the picture like that. One step away from being smooth. Not seen anything like that before. I have to say nice rescue. Hope the glue holds.

You'd be hard pressed to find one at all in Tennessee now Mainer. WTG & HH, Quindy.

That's two oldies in two trips, no doubt there is another waiting for you. especially since this one was only "10 feet away".

Nice job Mainer....None of that here in Indiana! >:( Congrats on two great days...Now get out there and go for three  jgas

You must be tired because you would laugh at that in person! (to be here and read it)

A couple of good pewters would have made the difference!

Dang, too bad 'ole George is flaking. That copper would have been beautiful. Maine has some great Colonial history. :hello2: :hello:

Kirk

That KG may be flaky but its still better then the ones i found at least you can see some detail :laughing7: Good find  Dd60

Thanks guys! :icon_thumleft:

King George looks a little crusty but all take it any day...Nice find..

Old coin, nice. Hamid

He probably wont make it long, even in the display case. Just goes to show if I would have rubbed the coin in the field it wouldnt have been able to be ID.

I agree Mainer, that's why if you ever watch a video of me digging a find, I ALWAYS say "I don't want to rub it too much or clean it in the field." Once you have it, its in your pouch, no reason to rush to clean it and destroy the patina or the detail that's left on the coin. It may be crusty, but it's identifiable and if you put it in the case, it will be fine. Congratulations!

That's a great coin Jesse-flaky or not. I doubt there's many in the ground here in Tennessee. Glad you made it through the Winter OK. HH, Quindy.
