✅ SOLVED The letter E but what is it, help

Good morning all
Found this today appears to be copper ? Letter E , somewhat domed and the size of a nickel
Does not have any shank or pin mark or any lettering I can see on the back. Seems fairly heavy. Was thinking maybe some sort of military disc but no pin or shank has me confused . Any help much appreciated

There have been many of these posted over the years. I think to this day it is still an Unsolved Mystery. Maybe this will be 'THE DAY " we finally solve that evil E mystery. Cheers!

This is the first "E" button I've seen posted since we solved the mystery. Thx for posting it.

I promise you, all the long-time 'What is it' contributors are grinning as they read this thread. Countless hours were spent trying to figure those things out. You, my friend, are the payoff.

The way these tiny tiny tiny ... stupid stupid stupid ... things would pop up ...
Seemingly impossible ... couldn't be happening ...

It was like some impossible "snipe hunt" ... in the midst of professional snipe hunters.
It wouldn't die.
