The Mighty Mississippi River!

Went on a motorcycle ride North up the Great River Road along the Mississippi River today. The pictures were taken at Buena Vista Park overlooking Alma, Wisconsin. The pictures don't do justice to actually being there. To me this truly is gods country.

I love that town ...its so quaint....and I really love their cemetery on the side of the hill...had master stonecarvers in the 1800's and the carvings are absolutely beautiful. Great pics!

Great pics,beautiful scenery except for that plant.Why do they always build on the scenic waterways?Easier to discharge their waste,I guess.

Dairyland Power Plant ....Their smokestacks visible for miles .....the other is the lock and dam

Nice pics, sounds like you had a great ride. I'm petrified crossing the MS River bridge driving a car in heavy traffic. Well I did it with my trike...I had no choice during one of our benefit rides, thank goodness it was on a Sunday and police escort. Whew!

One more picture taken at the lock and dam looking south. That locomotive was moving pretty fast. Kinda intimidating having it pass underneath at a close distance. Sounds like your a local Gypsyheart. Not to be to nosey but where are you from?

Great pics...most of us don't think of the Mississippi being that wide in Wisconson.
