The business was to be concluded in 1831, Morriss was just a contingency plan in case it never got satisfactorily concluded in 1831, which is why he was to wait until 1832. Some of the party were in and out of the Bedford/Lynchburg area several times beginning as early as 1815 - 1816 and traces of their presence can still be located today, even in some of the descriptive names and titles in the region. In 1829 & 1830 many of these people were in Richmond and there are letters of correspondence in existence that not only establishes their presence in Richmond, but some of these also establish the important business affairs they were trying to conclude, with large amounts of past transactions even being discussed, with some of these dating as far back to 1803. What is being looked into at present are the "possible" terms/conditions in regards to the two deposits.

Are the "deposits' in DEEP SAND, then?

Waiting on Mother Nature to take care of the sand issue down here. But, she's taking her sweet time! :laughing7:
As for the deposits, I think the business was concluded as planned and I seriously doubt that anything remains. But, who can say for sure "yet"....and so we'll keep investigating the situation until we know one way or the other. :dontknow:
