I've been detecting around a training camp for the German American Bund from 1930's. Finding a Mothers Cross would be like finding the Holy Grail to me.

Sounds like you have put yourself in the right area with potential for finding one, good luck! The one I found was about 4 inches deep and screamed out "clad quarter" boy was I surprised!!!

That's good to know. I keep telling myself to dig all these clad, lead, and old shot shell hits when I'm on a mission. Your confirming that thought. HH.
