Came courtesy of Gates21, again, thanks Aaron!

Just got back from a two hour stint at the parkway scrub. Got one block done, sort of. The machine did work well on surface targets to 4", under some noisy lines and in an iron-rich parkway.

I did not crank it up or tune it to the max settings for this environment, didn't want to get caught up in that yet. Tuning tricks can wait for the park nearby and the schoolyard outback. But the machine did run quietly with the light settings.

I was mostly interested in getting some of those ID numbers, tones and id categories sorted for light work before moving on to pinpointing and depth considerations. I will say it's curse to know I'm digging a mem cent, especially a zincoln but the rig was right on in the coin categories with the large screw cap and pop can exceptions allowed.

Left some iffy deepies to be sure but still gotta figure out the target separation and detune characteristics of the DD coil rig.

Pulled all clad this trip, no nickels, got a recently dropped live .32 round at a school bus stop, go figure...

Gonna go back this afternoon with the devil I know, the CZ hoping for a shinie or two.

Congrats on the new machine....

Hope she brings you great joy......Treat her nice and she'll return the favor...

Congrats on the new toy, Tim. I'd wish you luck but I know you won't need it. Keep us updated on the detector, and when you have put in the hours, give us a little comparison of your various machines.

Joe

Congratulations Tim. The F70 is a clad vaccum that is super light to swing. I kept mine after I got my Etrac to use for all day farm field fair ground hunts later this fall. From my experience it is much for stable and better separation with the stock F75 DD coil. Once I got that coil, I never switched back to the eliptical coil.

Bob, I treat 'em all like two-dollar trollups. If they can't hang with me, I smack my bish-up...

Neil, that's actually a pic of the not-so-ubiquitous-anymore Edde of Dekalb, one MD'er with a serious penchant for tearing coins free from Mama Earth's grasp.

Hey Joe, have a field in the local park where I've pulled dozens of silvers over the years down to a foot deep, it's trashy and I don't get any shinies there anymore. But a few guys have been through there with various rigs with a DD coil and pulled one or two so that tells me it's time to become part of the legion.

Hey Patrick, you're my new best friend in the whole world, we's gonna hookup soon so you can show me the secret settings!

You'll like that machine. I've got the same coil on my T2. Gets great depth and seperation plus super fast response. Mine's a little chatty too around power lines, but in the woods just crank it up. 4-tones are nice too (the third tone is for old coins) and in nail pits I use 1 tone and crank it up. I haven't got to hunt much this summer due to other commitments but now things are starting slow down a little so I'll be posting soon too. Enjoy your new rig, Tim.

P.S. Gates21 is a good guy, I got a great deal a couple years back on a sunray probe for a previous detector and some grey ghosts head phones from him.

You're gonna love it Tim!
I found keepers the first time out with the F75 and I learn more every time out with it. The target separation is great for finding the good stuff in between the junk. Have a good time with it,
Mike
